MARLENE SMITH - BIOGRAPHY
"I love light, how it dances and magically changes
everything around us."
Marlene Smith developed a precocious interest in photography at the age of
eight when she was presented with her first camera. As an adult, she studied at St. Lawrence College in Kingston,
Ontario where she graduated (Diploma w/Distinction) in Fine Arts & Photography. What began as a hobby, blossomed into a
full time career and then gracefully leveled itself out as an artistic adventure.
Marlene applauds the brilliance of precision photography, but prefers to
follow her own artistic soul. For her, watching light, how it behaves and then capturing it, is bliss. Creating abstracts is
just plain fun.
Marlene Smith offers up her own style of photography. From sophisticated to
funny, artistic to edgy - her images are often whimsical , twisted, creatively bent. These gallery pages host many passionate
years of collecting images both by traditional photography and digitally.
"Grainy, blurred colors, brilliant neon lights and crashing waves excite
me. I believe there are hidden gems of light and art randomly around every corner." |
